F&F Bike Rides
Our sponsor Fast & Fit Coaching is holding newbie-friendly rides leading up to Pleasant Prairie!
This year they have partnered with two bike shops to have rides leave from two starting points. We will alternate locations from BFF Bikes in Bucktown and Tailwind Cycles in Albany Park.
For May & June, the schedule is:
- May 13th + June 10th (BRICK) will be out of Tailwind Cycles 3140 Montrose Ave
- May 20th(BRICK) + June 24th Will be out of BFF Bikes 2113 W Armitage
- The June 24th ride is day before pleasant prairie and will be a short 30 min get your legs spinning followed by a 10 min run.
- There will not be a ride for May 27th due to the holiday weekend : Memorial Day.
All Rides, leave at 9 am with a moving time of 1 1/2-2 hrs. We start with a safety check and rules of the road and leave promptly at 9:05am.
The rides are part of a progressive training plan ending with Pleasant Prairie Tri so each week has a new focus, increased time, cadence, transition, etc.
We progress into bricks as part of the Saturday rides, where the bikes are secured at the shop and we go for a timed run.
The rides are no-drop so pace is determined by the slowest rider but be prepared to push yourself and ride approximately 20 miles. For all Bricks bring your gear to leave at the shop, once we get back to the shop plan on a quick transition and a 15-20 min run.
We ask riders to have helmet, phone, id, water bottles, flat repair kit (if you do not know how to change a flat they can help), bike and cash.
