Lake Shore Park Track Practice 6am May – October.

If you’d like coaching, our sponsor Fast & Fit Coaching is offering a run coaching special in conjunction with this workout: You’ll get a customized weekly track workout along with instruction and feedback on how to improve your running form. These workouts coincide with the Tuesday morning practice sessions.

The cost for coaching is $160 for the full season (through the marathon into fall), 10 sessions for $125, or $15 for a single session. All new people are entitled to a free trial session, but everyone must RSVP to Michelle by registering for this event.

    F&F Bike Rides

Our sponsor Fast & Fit Coaching is holding newbie-friendly rides leading up to Pleasant Prairie!

This year they have partnered with two bike shops to have rides leave from two starting points.  We will alternate locations from BFF Bikes in Bucktown and Tailwind Cycles in Albany Park.

For May & June, the schedule is:

    • May 13th + June 10th (BRICK) will be out of Tailwind Cycles 3140 Montrose Ave
    • May 20th(BRICK) + June 24th Will be out of BFF Bikes 2113 W Armitage
    • The June 24th ride is day before pleasant prairie and will be a short 30 min get your legs spinning followed by a 10 min run.
    • There will not be a ride for May 27th due to the holiday weekend : Memorial Day.

All Rides, leave at 9 am with a moving time of 1 1/2-2 hrs. We start with a safety check and rules of the road and leave promptly at 9:05am.

The rides are part of a progressive training plan ending with Pleasant Prairie Tri so each week has a new focus, increased time, cadence, transition, etc.

We progress into bricks as part of the Saturday rides, where the bikes are secured at the shop and we go for a timed run.

The rides are no-drop so pace is determined by the slowest rider but be prepared to push yourself and ride approximately 20 miles. For all Bricks bring your gear to leave at the shop, once we get back to the shop plan on a quick transition and a 15-20 min run.

We ask riders to have helmet, phone, id, water bottles, flat repair kit (if you do not know how to change a flat they can help), bike and cash.

Please RSVP to Michelle by RSVP'ing for this event.  If there is inclement weather you will receive a text or email 60 minutes prior to the ride with updates.

To volunteer for Gear Watch, add your name to a shift!  To attend the workout, check the sign up to be sure someone has volunteered for that day and be sure to bring your stuff to the club person before you start swimming.

Chicago Blue Dolphin's John Fitzpatrick will be covering 'The Magnificent Seven-Seven Tips to Improving Your Triathlon Swim This Season.'

John Fitzpatrick states it’s a truism that the swim doesn’t make your triathlon performance but it can sure break it.  After all, if your swim is more like a “near death experience,” you won’t have much energy left for the longer biking and running legs.

And on a positive note, John states he has seen OVER AND OVER that triathletes who make their swim faster and more efficient improve their overall race times. If you’re not as exhausted and stressed after the swim, you’ll have more energy to bike harder and run faster.

At the July meeting, he will be giving his advice for improving your swim, and ultimately, your overall race time.

Come for happy hour at 6pm to meet and mingle with other CTCers, followed by the 1-hour clinic starting at 7 pm

    • Egg Harbor, WI

The club has booked a number of houses and cabins for Door County this year. All are in or near Egg Harbor within a couple of miles of the race. Space is limited so they're available on a first-come-first-served basis. Each spot is for three nights, Friday to Monday.

Use this form to sign up for housing and to be guaranteeded a spot. The house has some twins, a couple of bunks and some queens and kings so as with Galena you might have to share a bed with someone of the same sex. I'll try to accommodate all rooming requests once we have a complete list of people going. Housing will initially be for club members only but if we have any spaces left the registration deadline then we'll open it up to partners, kids etc.

The sprint race is on the Saturday and the half iron is on the Sunday so we'll have a post-race party on the Sunday at one of the houses as in previous years. There are lots of CTC-ers signed up this year so it should be a fun time!
