Online Training Programs
New for 2003, we have partnered with professional triathlon coaches to provide on-line training programs for 3 popular club races. These new training programs have been designed to work in tandem with our group workouts schedule: you may participate in any group workout even if you are not following the training program; likewise you may follow the training programs but complete the described workouts on your own time.

Group workouts are for current Chicago Tri Club members only, unless otherwise noted. Please have your member card ready to show the workout leader.

Club sponsored training programs
We are happy to announce that training programs for the Optimist Triathlon, the Accenture Chicago Triathlon, and the MidEast Club Championship Race will be offered this summer. The club has paired up with professional triathlon coaches to build training programs that work off our organized group workouts to prepare club members for these upcoming races.

Training programs will be posted on our web site, will be free, and will be available to members only. Each program will provide guidelines for your current base of activity, and then detailed workouts in swimming, biking, running & weight lifting to successful train for and peak for the designated race. Workouts will be designed to work with the club's organized group workouts (i.e. long bike rides on Sundays) but may be rearranged to fit your own schedule.

OPTIMIST TUNE-UP: This 4-week program will begin on Monday, June 2nd and will prepare participants for theOptimist Sprint Triathlon. The race is a sprint distance on June 28th. Coach: Matt Pahnke & Lauren Strickler, Tri Harder Multisports

CHICAGO TRIATHLON SPRINT PROGRAM: This program will begin in early July and will prepare participants for the Accenture Chicago Triathlon's Sprint Distance race on August 24. It will be geared towards first-time racers and other beginning-level athletes. Coach: Matt Pahnke & Lauren Strickler, Tri Harder Multisports

CHICAGO TRIATHLON INTERNATIONAL/OLYMPIC PROGRAM: This 11-week program will be begin June 9th and will prepare participants for the Accenture Chicago Triathlon's International Distance race on August 24. It will be geared towards intermediate-level racers and above. Coach: Sharone Aharon, Well Fit, Inc. Sharone will be at the monthly meeting on June 4th at Fizz to give an introduction and overview of the program and answer questions.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP RACE PROGRAM: This program will build off of the Chicago Triathlon International Program and will include 2 final weeks so you have peaked for the Club Championship race as well. Coach: Sharone Aharon, Well Fit, Inc.
