Poplar Creek Forest Preserve Path

The Poplar Creek Forest Preserve features an approximately 9 mile paved bike path loop near Hoffman Estates, not far off the Northwest Tollway. The path is not very crowded and has a few rises and dips to get your heart rate up. There are a few street crossings, including two of Rt. 59 at the west end of the preserve which require your attention.

Directions:

1. Take the Kennedy expressway out of the city
2. At O'Hare, continue on the Northwest Tollway
3. Exit Barrington Road, south
4. The entrance to the Forest Preserve is on your right, after you pass Higgins (and before you come to Golf Rd.)
5. Park in the first parking lot. The path starts by Barrington Rd.
